The Perfect Drink For Pear Season
If you love apple cider as much as I do, it’s time to give pear cider a try! ♡
This homemade pear cider recipe simmers fresh pears with orange, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and ginger until the fruit is soft and wonderfully spiced. Then you just mash everything there in the pot (or you can use a Crock-Pot), strain the cider, and sweeten it with brown sugar to taste. The result is the loveliest mellow cider, with just a little kick from the ginger. It’s nonalcoholic as written (our boys love it!), but it’s also easy to spike with bourbon, brandy or rum if you’d like to turn it into a cocktail.
Anytime I serve this to a group, people are always surprised and delighted by the idea of a cider made with pears…and end up loving it! Definitely a fun way to make the most of pear season. Let’s make some cider!
